At Wigglesbottom Primary, the class are warming up for Sports Day when they notice the school chicken is watching them. Then it starts copying their stretches. Then it hops on one leg during the sack race.
By the time the big running race starts, the chicken has escaped from its pen. Where has it gone? And why is it running towards the finishing line?
In the second story, the head teacher brings in an ant farm. By break time the ants have escaped, and the class become convinced that Anne-Marie (who has named every ant, including one called Lady Gaga) is now their new queen.
In the third, Joel Jack drops his dinner tray and there's GREEN SLIME everywhere. The class are sure the dinner ladies are up to something toxic, so they crawl back into the dining hall to spy on them. (It's Halloween week. That's your clue.)
The stories are told by one of the class, who always says "we", and the gang gasp and shout and jump to the wildest conclusions every time. Important words come in capitals, so there's lots to put on a funny voice for.
The best bit for little listeners is being one step ahead of the class. They'll probably guess what's really going on before the characters do, and they'll LOVE it when the grown-ups finally explain.
