My favourite children’s book was Lucy and the Merman by Audrey Brixer.

As a Ruby myself, I also absolutely loved Reckless Ruby by Hiawyn Oram. Other highlights include The Rainbow Fish, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and all of the Harry Potters.

What were your favourite children’s books? I’m interested!

There are so many amazing children’s books out there! Including so many new ones that I haven’t made my way through yet.

But an ultimate classic that springs to mind is Helen Nicoll’s Meg and Mog. I have a copy in my classroom and my learners know it’s my “special” book.

A “special” book in the classroom is wonderful, Sam.

I haven’t come across Reckless Ruby, but they sound intriguing! My favourite children’s book is the Tiger Who Came to Tea, but I agree that there are so many more contemporary titles that I’ve just not discovered yet.

I’m looking forward to seeing what people recommend in this forum. I also use Twitter for recommendations sometimes- #edutwitter is fab.

Tom’s Midnight Garden. Might be something to do with the name.
